Encourage and Respect

 ”…For God has destined us not for wrath but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep we may live with him.

 Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing.

 But we appeal to you, brothers and sisters, to respect those who labor among you, and have charge of you in the Lord and admonish you; esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. And we urge you, beloved, to admonish the idlers, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with all of them. See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all.

 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise the words of prophets, but test everything; hold fast to what is good; abstain from every form of evil.

Morning Line: Narrow Gate!

God wants you fit and ready, pushing for your destiny through the narrow gate (Jesus Christ), leading to Eternal Life and victory. You have to go through the gate to get in the race. Don’t stumble over discouragement, or your past stay focused on the race before you as you breeze down the stretch as the Holy Spirit opens your path.

Morning Line: Arise, Light the Lamp

“Speak to Aaron, and tell him, ‘When you light the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lampstand.”—Numbers 8:2

Did you ever just sit and stare at a fire? It’s hard to take your eyes off it! The flickering flames capture your attention in an almost trance-like way. The flames are always going up, gently dancing and burning bright. It shares its warmth and light with others and never is diminished by doing so.

The second verse of this week’s reading presents a challenge to translators. It refers to the candelabra lit by Aaron and most translate the Hebrew word beha’alotcha as “when you light” or “when you kindle.”

The literal translation though is quite different. The word beha’alotcha means “when you raise up.” The translators go with the contextual rather than the literal definition. Fair enough, but the result is that you lose out on a beautiful message hidden in the Hebrew text.

The fact that it means “when you raise up” taught Aaron a lesson in exactly how he was meant to light the menorah (candelabra). Aaron, or the priest who lit the menorah (candelabra) was to keep the fire close to the wick until the wick itself caught fire and rose by itself. The flame used to light the candelabra had to be held close to the wick until the wick was burning on its own.

This lesson applies not only to the lighting of the menorah (candelabra) in the Temple but also serves as a lesson for life. When we help and inspire others, we need to be there until they are able to shine, on their own, without our help. Until the wick ignites and sustains the flame independently, any attempt to ignite it will ultimately prove useless.

If we bring warmth and light to others, God will bless you with warmth and light.

Once for All, Who Receive Him

But when Christ came as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation), he entered once for all into the Holy Place, not with the blood of goats and calves, but with his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption…

 For this reason, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance because a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions under the first covenant. Where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established.For a will takes effect only at death since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive.

 Thus it was necessary for the sketches of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves need better sacrifices than these. For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made by human hands, a mere copy of the true one, but he entered into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.

 Nor was it to offer himself again and again, as the high priest enters the Holy Place year after year with blood that is not his own; for then he would have had to suffer again and again since the foundation of the world.

But as it is, he has appeared “ONCE” for all at the end of the age to remove sin by the sacrifice of himself.

 And just as it is appointed for mortals to die once, and after that the judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him…” Hebrews 9:11,12, 15-17, 23-28 (NRSVCE)

MORNING LINE: Be Focused Be Consistency!

Winners are not always the fastest or sharpest ball in the rack, but the most consistent.  They are the closest to doing it right all the time.

When Bumped on the Turn! They don’t always bump back; it may cost them the race.  Keeping their eyes on the prize they get a second wind of determination.

 “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little” Isaiah 28:10

Friend, Complete the Task at hand keeping your hope, faith, and focus on God’s Word renewing your mind daily. God’s Spirit will bring you into your best stride for your victory.

 “Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed…,  for there be more with us than with him/them: With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles” 2 Chronicles 32:7, 8

Trust, have peace, and lean on God’s Son Jesus, He is riding in the race with you as you cast your care on Him, He will lead you to VICTORY! Stay Focused, Stay Consistent!

On The Near Horizon, New Heaven and the New Earth

Morning Line: Repositioning

When God is about to reposition your Life be on guard, the devil or life may try to throw you a sucker punch. Watch and pray, write down the thoughts that come into your heart, mind, and spirit. Balance them with God’s, promises, and precepts while taking on the whole armor of God. Firm in the knowing God is with you to protect and light your path.

 “ So from the beginning, I have been convinced of all this and have thought it out and left it in writing: All the works of the Lord are good, and he will supply every need in its time.
No one can say, “This is not as good as that,” for everything proves good in its appointed time” Sirach 39:32-34 (NRSVCE)

 “  I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6 (NRSVCE)

God is the qualifier and more than able to make a way where there seems to be no way. We have these two great foundation promises.

 As we trust God and surrender He will restore lost time and reposition us for victory.

 “I shall restore to you the years that the locust, the swarming locust, the canker-worm, and the caterpillar have eaten…“You will surely eat and be satisfied, and praise the Name of Adonai your God, who has dealt wondrously with you…) Joel 2:25-26 (TLV)

“…Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all, we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.” Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21(NRSCVE)

Pray this simple prayer, Lord create in me a right heart, to see, hear, and write down what you are saying. Help me to keep my hands off the reins and trust you to ride it out in your perfect timing. Amen

Morning Line: Have Faith Have Heart!

Whatever the need is, today it is covered in God’s unchangeable “Word”. Search the

Word, asking the Holy Spirit to lead you to the promise or promises you need. Then

own them in your Heart, mind, and spirit, don’t look at the storm, stand unwavering.

Meditate: On the promise and it will be “Fulfilled”

”.seeing Jesus… He said, My daughter lays at the point of death: I pray…come lay your hands on her, that she may be healed; and…Jesus went with him…” Mark 5:22-24

Friend never be afraid, Jesus Christ will draw closer and closer as you seek Him. God’s word doesn’t fail; God’s Word will accomplish what it is sent to do, meeting you where you are, and bringing you through.

 “So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:4-6

 “ But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him…” Hebrews 11:6

Have faith God’s arm isn’t short and his storehouse is full to help anytime anywhere. Thank Him for His love and grace and you will see the path to take.
