How’s Your Dashboard? from the desk Dan Watts, RTCA
It’s good to occasionally block off some time and check our dashboards. Just like the dashboard on your vehicle, there are questions to ask ourselves before warning lights and indicators go off and we end up in the shop. Here are some examples…
How are my relationships at home?
What are my relationships at work like?
Which relationships give me energy and which drain my energy?
Am I getting enough rest?
How is my energy level?
Am I maintaining good health?
Have I been learning lately?
Am I applying what I’m learning?
What thoughts dominate my mind? Do they pull me closer to God or push me away from Him?
How is my relationship with Jesus right now?
Do I feel close to Him or distant?
What has God been saying to me lately?
Matthew 11:27-29 (NRSVCE) “ All things have been handed over to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
